INDONESIA EMPOWERING THE DIGITAL ECONOMY IN COLLABORATION WITH GCEL
July 25, 2019
On July 25, 2019, the World Logistics Council (WLC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the Indonesia Stock Exchange in Jakarta with leading Indonesian organizations to support deployment of the Digital Economy Platform (DEP) through the Asia Benchmark Trade Lane Program.

The agreement was signed with Indonesian e-marketplace Bukalapak, finance company Kresna Graha Investama, and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN).

KADIN is Indonesia’s national chamber of commerce and industry, representing businesses across trade, industry, and services while providing a strategic platform for economic development and entrepreneurship.
WLC’s Digital Economy Platform enables Indonesia’s e-commerce, finance, and insurance sectors to accelerate business digitization and economic growth.

According to GCEL’s economic roadmap, implementation of the DEP could reduce Indonesia’s excess trade costs by USD 104 billion, increase trade by USD 159 billion, and create nearly 10.6 million jobs.
