INDIA’S UNION MINISTRIES STRATEGIZE WITH GCEL TO ESTABLISH THE E-HUB OF THE WORLD

With the support of the Prime Minister’s Office and coordination by the National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog), GCEL convened a strategic session on October 24 with senior officials from several Indian Union Ministries to initiate discussions on establishing the E-Hub of the World in India.
Participating ministries included the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Ministry of Shipping, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Ministry of External Affairs, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
The discussions focused on India’s opportunity to assume a global leadership role in the Digital Economy through the deployment of advanced technologies that can strengthen the competitiveness of Indian businesses and support long-term economic growth.
Recognizing the importance of technology leadership, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology was designated to lead Digital Economy implementation activities on behalf of the participating Union Ministries.
