GCEL RELEASES G20 NATIONS CASE STUDY AT THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND ADVANCES DIGITAL ECONOMY DEPLOYMENT ACROSS EUROPE

May 17, 2018

GCEL presented its G20 Nations Case Study at the European Parliament, providing the foundation for the deployment of the Digital Economy Platform (DEP) by the world’s leading technology firms.

Strategic agreements were signed with INSME, BVMW, and CONFAPI to implement the DEP through four Benchmark Trade Lanes across the Americas, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East/Africa, including a European Benchmark Trade Lane connecting Italy and Germany to enhance trade efficiency and digital connectivity.

INSME is an international SME association, while BVMW is Germany’s largest SME organization and CONFAPI is Italy’s leading SME association.

The G20 Nations Case Study was conducted with 90 G20 ministries, IGOs, NGOs, academic institutions, and private-sector experts. The study collected nearly 1.2 million data points across 19 industries and found that 90.4% of trade participants lack integrated systems, while 94.5% support the Digital Economy Platform to improve competitiveness and trade growth.

The DEP rollout will be supported by the world’s leading technology firms and is expected to unlock a new USD 400 billion market opportunity while driving significant long-term growth through 2030.
