GCEL PRESENTS IMPLEMENTABLE POLICY FORMULA AT G20 BUSINESS FORUM ON INNOVATION

November 03, 2016

During the 2016 G20 Science, Technology and Innovation Ministers Meeting, the G20 Business Forum on Innovation was jointly organized in Beijing by China’s Ministry of Science and Technology, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), and the China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC) on November 3, 2016.

The event featured opening remarks from China’s Vice Minister of Science and Technology Wang Zhigang, 2016 B20 Chairman Jiang Zengwei, and Argentina’s Minister of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation, Lino Barañao.

Dr. Surin Pitsuwan, Chairman of GCEL’s Asia Advisory Board and former ASEAN Secretary-General, was invited to present GCEL’s Digital Economy Initiative before more than 200 entrepreneurs, experts, and scholars representing G20 members and guest countries.

During his presentation, Dr. Pitsuwan introduced GCEL’s Implementable Policy Formula, designed to strengthen trust between policymakers and citizens while supporting sustainable economic growth.

The framework emphasized three key elements:

  • The Digital Economy as a practical foundation for implementing effective public policy.
  • The G20 Nations Case Study as the voice of citizens and businesses identifying the digital tools needed to improve competitiveness.
  • The commitment of leading global technology firms to deliver the digital solutions required to support economic development and growth.
