GCEL ADVOCATES DIGITAL TOOLS FOR SMES AT THE 12TH INSME ANNUAL MEETING IN DOHA

Recognizing GCEL’s leadership in advancing the Digital Economy, the International Network for Small and Medium Enterprises (INSME) invited GCEL, an INSME Sustaining Member, to participate in the 12th Annual Meeting of INSME, held in Doha, Qatar, from April 12–14, 2016.

During the event, GCEL delivered three key engagements focused on strengthening SME competitiveness and promoting practical Digital Economy solutions.

GCEL first led a roundtable discussion on the findings of the G20 Nations Case Study and the digital tools SMEs require to improve efficiency, productivity, and global competitiveness.

Dr. Surin Pitsuwan then addressed the INSME General Assembly, highlighting the opportunities created by an empowered Digital Economy and the concept of a global USD 1 trillion SME fund to support business growth and development.

Finally, Tan Sri Abdul Rahman Mamat delivered the keynote address at the INSME Gala Dinner, discussing global support for the Digital Economy, the results of the G20 Nations Case Study, the commitment of leading technology firms to implement Digital Economy solutions, and the potential benefits for SMEs, including access to a recurring USD 1 trillion SME fund.
