FRENCH INDUSTRY ASSOCIATIONS AND ACADEMIA LAUNCH ASSESSMENT OF DIGITAL TOOLS TO SUPPORT TRADE GROWTH

November 05, 2015

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of France International hosted the launch of the France National Shipment and Trade Efficiency Assessment (SEA) at its headquarters in Paris, bringing together key stakeholders to explore how digital technologies can strengthen sustainable trade growth.

The CCI of France represents the interests of more than 32,000 commercial, industrial, and service companies across the country.

Participants in the assessment included the Movement of the Enterprises of France (MEDEF), ACSEL – the French Association for the Digital Economy, and ESCP Europe, one of the world’s leading business schools. Together, these organizations represent major sectors of French industry, digital innovation, and academic research.

GCEL and the assessment team reviewed the project scope, survey methodology, and evaluation process designed to identify the digital tools needed to improve transparency, efficiency, and competitiveness across France’s global value chains.

The assessment projected that the adoption of advanced digital tools could reduce France’s trade costs by USD 3.67 billion and increase trade by USD 15.83 billion.
