Discussions focused on how the Digital Economy Platform can help ASEAN SMEs compete more effectively by reducing trade and operational costs, improving access to finance and insurance, and strengthening connections with global markets.

The session also examined how the platform supports the objectives of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) Blueprint 2025, ASEAN ICT Masterplan 2020, and ASEAN Connectivity 2025.

According to GCEL’s economic roadmap, digitizing ASEAN and its trade partners could reduce excess trade costs by USD 464 billion annually, increase goods trade by USD 1.1 trillion, generate USD 1.2 trillion in new digital services, and create nearly 57 million jobs.
