Building Global Consensus

Building Global Consensus

MORE THAN 15 YEARS OF R&D HAS BROUGHT TOGETHER A GLOBAL COALITION OF PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTOR LEADERS WORKING TOWARDS ACHIEVING SUSTAINED ECONOMIC GROWTH BY EMPOWERING THE DIGITAL ECONOMY.

From A Global Policy Perspective

GCEL and its global members have been advocating the importance of the Digital Economy towards achieving sustainable economic growth. Today, the Digital Economy has been embraced throughout the world as the main denominator for implementation of public policy.

THE 2015 TURKEY B20 PARTNERS WITH GCEL TO PRESENT “THE DIGITAL REVOLUTION: VOICE OF THE G20 CITIZENS” AT THE FIRST EVER B20 DIGITAL ECONOMY CONFERENCE.
THE 2015 TURKEY B20 PARTNERS WITH GCEL TO PRESENT “THE DIGITAL REVOLUTION: VOICE OF THE G20 CITIZENS” AT THE FIRST EVER B20 DIGITAL ECONOMY CONFERENCE.
Why? The 2015 Turkey B20 identified the Digital Economy as a common theme for the implementation of their recommendations to the G20 Leaders. So far, 40% of the G20 citizens surveyed through the G20 Nations Case Study have defined what the Digital Economy should look like. The world will benefit by:

  • USD 1.3 Trillion in annual trade cost reduction
  • USD 1.2 Trillion in trade increase
  • 100 Million in new job opportunities

Yet the three major benefits outlined above are only the beginning;

Enhanced cargo security, improved food safety, faster disaster response and a reduced carbon footprint are other major benefits delivered by the Digital Economy.

“The B20 Coalition has made the Digital Economy its priority for 2015. As we are coming toward the end the G20 / B20 Turkish Presidency, we do hope and believe that the initiative of integrating the Digital Economy into G20 leaders’ agenda is just the beginning of a process that we’ll take in on the Chinese Presidency, and will assume more importance next year and upcoming years.”

— Ms. Cansen Basaran-Symes, Chair TUSIAD and B20 Coalition Member

GCEL ENGAGED BY 2015 TURKEY B20 TO PRESENT THE IMPLEMENTABLE POLICY FORMULA FOR WORLD LEADERS AT 2015 ANNUAL B20 CONFERENCE
Why? There has been a diminishing trust between the public and policy makers. Good policies can be implemented when there is a common denominator among policies, validation from the ground level, and industry capability & commitment to deliver what is demanded. GCEL’s Digital Economy initiative succeeds in accomplishing the above. The world will benefit by:

  • USD 1.3 Trillion in annual trade cost reduction
  • USD 1.2 Trillion in trade increase
  • 100 Million in new job opportunities

Yet the three major benefits outlined above are only the beginning;

Enhanced cargo security, improved food safety, faster disaster response and a reduced carbon footprint are other major benefits delivered by the Digital Economy.

“ESCWA is very keen on the GCEL project, because our economic and econometrics relation has demonstrated very clearly the direct and very important results that could be achieved from the improvement of trade facilitation by reducing costs and eliminating non-tariff barriers.”

  • USD 11 Billion in trade costs reduction
  • USD 52 Billion in trade increase
  • 2.72 Million new job opportunities in Malaysia alone

Yet the three major benefits outlined above are only the beginning;

Enhanced cargo security, improved food safety, faster disaster response and a reduced carbon footprint are other major benefits delivered by the Digital Economy Platform.

By diagnosing and acting upon trade efficiency challenges and leveraging on the Digital Economy through new performance standards, we create a solid foundation for sustained economic growth.”

EXCLUSIVE STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS

WHY? 26 of the world’s top technology firms with more than USD 400 billion revenue and 2.4 million manpower servicing more than 60% of the world’s GDP have signed exclusive agreements as a first step to be selected to deploy the Digital Economy globally as demanded by the real economy participants.

These firms recognize they cannot deploy the Digital Economy alone and have validated the technology, value proposition, business model, deployment strategy and the opportunity to double their EBIT. The Digital Economy Platform will:

  • Provide IT companies a new market opportunity in excess of USD 500 billion by 2025
  • Increase the return on investment (ROI) for their shareholders

Benefits to All

In anticipation to the selection stage that will take place during the Genesis Event, 28 finance, insurance and technology firms will be selected from around the globe through a transparent, equal opportunity process as “Gateways” to deliver the Digital Economy Platform to businesses around the world and are motivated by a new market opportunity for the services industry projected to reach USD 6 trillion by 2025.
